HENRY SIEBEN’S “MOUNTAIN CLAN”
Chase & Emily Hibbard:
Chase and Emily Hibbard live between Sieben Live Stock at Adel and their
house in Helena. A blended marriage,
Chase and Emily met when both served as Montana state legislators, he as a
Republican and she as a Democrat. They
have four children and four grandchildren.
Chase is President and CEO of Sieben Live Stock, a position he has had
for almost 40 years and hopes to retire from within the next few years. Emily cares for and herds sheep, works border
collies, and rides horses. In their
spare time, Chase and Emily still enjoy skiing and occasional golf. Each year Chase and his cousin John Baucus,
with John Jr. and their logger friend Doug take a substantial BMW motorcycle
ride to wild parts of the country.
Tyler & Heather Hibbard (son James
20 months): Tyler (son of Chase), Heather,
and James (20 months) Hibbard live in Missoula, Montana, with their dog, Wyatt
(aka Buster). They love to spend time outside, and live just a short walk from
one of the best hiking trails in Missoula! In the 9 years that Tyler and
Heather have been together, they've remodeled 2 houses and are now living in
their third (in-process) remodel. Tyler works as a credit analyst for First
Security Bank and Heather works as an instructor and academic advisor at the
University of Montana.
Marshall & Terah Hibbard: Marshall Hibbard lives in
Missoula, Montana with his wife Terah and boxer dog Ruger. He likes to
spend his time pursuing art photography, making documentary films, playing bass
guitar, traveling, skiing, biking, hiking and exploring. He makes his
living working at a small but growing design firm, Gecko Designs, as the lead
art director. With about 15 years of design experience under his belt, he
can't help but constantly annoy his friends with critiques about the typeface
used on a menu or the color choice on a piece of signage or the human interface
animation choices made for an iPhone app. He was born in Helena, Montana,
and he moved to Missoula to pursue a BFA with an emphasis in photography - and
it only took him six years to accomplish! He and his wife are currently
in the process of putting their house on the market and hope to upgrade to a
slightly lower-maintenance home in the near future.
Terah
Hibbard lives in Missoula, Montana, with her husband Marshall Hibbard, and her
adorable boxer dog Ruger. She currently works as a homemaker and artist
participating in and curating local art shows. In addition, she is an avid
organic gardener and gourmet cook. She loves to experiment with many ethnic
dishes giving them a Montana spin and has catered several local events. Terah
is an all-around Montana girl who loves hiking, swimming, fishing and the
outdoors. She grew up in Thompson Falls, Montana, as an only child of third-generation
Montanans with strong family values and a love for nature. Terah graduated with
a BFA from the University of Montana in 2005. Shortly after graduation she
worked as a teacher's aide in a private school for a year in her home town
before returning to Missoula to pursue caregiving for the developmentally
disabled and the elderly. She won caregiver of the year in 2007 while working
for the local nonprofit Missoula Developmental Services Corp. She also worked
for the renowned organization of Home Instead. In recent years Terah has been
expanding her skill set by becoming certified in Reiki One and Body Scan
Therapy and is on the road to becoming a Reiki Master. She is also building up
a body of work for an upcoming solo art show in the next year as well as
perfecting a collection of original poetry. She is happily married to the love
of her life Marshall Hibbard and feels very blessed to be part of such a
wonderful family.
Scott & Gretchen Hibbard;
Cooper Hibbard & Ashley Wertheimer; Tyrrell & Mary Hibbard: Scott Hibbard was born in Helena
and has lived just west of Helena since he and Gretchen operated what was then
the Lazy B Ranch, a subsidiary unit of Sieben Live Stock Co., and they raised
their young family there. When that unit sold in 1991 they remained close by
and Scott moved into ranch management and consulting which he continues to do
as President of Scott Hibbard Ranch Management, Inc. He has served on the boards of Montana's two
largest conservation organizations and likes to play golf and ski when time
allows. He graduated from Williams
College in Massachusetts and has master’s degrees in creative writing and
business administration from the University of Montana. His "hobby" is writing historical
fiction and he is looking for an agent for his first book which he recently
completed.
Raised in
Florida, Gretchen Hibbard moved to Montana when she married Scott Hibbard in
1977. A graduate of Stetson University,
Gretchen is a watercolor artist and serves as a docent at the Holter Museum of
Art in Helena. Gretchen finds artistic
inspiration in the ranch landscape and has found life in Montana to be a true
joy. Gretchen presently is exhibiting
her work in Great Falls for the month of July.
She is active in many ranch activities and is the sun at the center of
the Scott Hibbard family.
Tyrrell
Hibbard, the oldest of Scott and Gretchen's two sons, lives in Helena with his
wife, Mary, and two daughters, Genevieve Sieben (almost 4) and Hazel Jane
(almost 2). As the Producer Coordinator
for Western Sustainability Exchange, Tyrrell connects food buyers with
producers of locally grown food products and runs a certification program for
sustainable agriculture practices. He
has recently started a new business venture in Helena -- Triple Divide spirits,
the Queen City's only distillery -- and he works part-time during the summer
months helping his uncle, Whit Hibbard, operate a summer grazing enterprise
west of Helena for Sieben Live Stock Co.
After graduating from Duke University, Tyrrell spent ten months working
in Scotland and Ireland followed by two years of teaching English in Japan
before returning to Montana. Tyrrell serves on the board of a local land trust,
is an avid mountain biker, and hunts with a flintlock, black-powder rifle.
Mary Ahmann
Hibbard, married to Tyrrell Hibbard, hails from a large, multi-general Helena
family. Mary sells residential real estate for her family business while
maintaining a functioning household and raising two young daughters, Genevieve
and Hazel. Mary graduated from Carroll College after studying abroad at the
University of East Anglia (England) and the National University of Ireland,
Galway. She is a trained massage therapist, she loves to play soccer, and she
serves on the boards of the Holter Museum of Art and the Helena Association of
Realtors.
Cooper
Hibbard is the operations manager/foreman of Sieben Live Stock Co. He graduated
from Cal Poly (California State Polytechnic University) in San Luis Obispo,
California, with a B.S. in agricultural business. While at Cal Poly he learned to play polo and
went on to be named the Intercollegiate Player of the Year by the Polo Training
Foundation. After college he worked on
ranches in Mexico, Colorado, Argentina, and Australia before returning to
Montana and Sieben Live Stock Co. Cooper
serves on the board of Ranchers Original, a Montana start-up company that
markets Montana beef, and was recently the proud "father" of twelve
Border Collie puppies.
Ashley
Wertheimer, Cooper's partner, is an artist and lives at the ranch where she
helps with various ranch activities. She
works part time for a micro brewery in Helena and rents studio space near the
brewery. She is a graduate of Cal Poly
in San Luis Obispo and attended the Vermont Studio Center for a month-long
fellowship in 2014.
Emily Hibbard’s daughter and
family: Natalie & Kevin Wysocki (and son Tate, and daughters Gianna,
Georgia)
Whit & Felice Hibbard:
Whitney Sieben Hibbard (DOB 4-20-51) worked on the family ranch (Adel)
during summers, skied during the winters, attended Bowdoin and Smith Colleges, and
then did graduate studies at the University of Montana and Saybrook Graduate
School. After a stint doing criminal justice consulting work, he returned to
the ranch on a part-time basis, and currently publishes Stockmanship
Journal. His wife, Felice, grew up in Michigan, and spent many years
working with thoroughbred race horses and polo ponies. She returned to graduate
school to get her master’s degree in public health and worked in hospital
administration.
John F. & Nina Baucus; John
H. & Cathy Baucus (with son Mitchell and daughter Gabi); Laura Baucus
Miller (with son Brandon and daughter Dani); Philip Baucus (deceased): John F. Baucus was born and raised in the
Helena and Wolf Creek, Montana area. He attended grades 1-12 in the
Helena school system and graduated from Montana State University with a degree
in agricultural production with an emphasis on economics. He returned to
the family ranch after graduation in 1971 and has since remained. He
married Nina Craig in 1973 and together they raised three children. He is
a member of several Montana and national agricultural organizations. He
is actively involved in ranch operations with occasional trips to Utah/Arizona
to search out Pueblo ruins, as well as an annual motorcycle trip with cousin
Chase Hibbard. John and Nina’s son John H. Baucus and his wife Cathy,
along with their children Mitchell and Gabi, also live on the ranch.
Daughter Laura and husband Jeff with their two children Dani and Brandon live
in Littleton, Colorado. Their son Phillip died while serving with the
U.S. Marines in Iraq. His wife Kathy is a teacher and lives in
California.
From Nina:
Our three
kids were all raised on the ranch here near Wolf Creek. All of them
attended school in Helena and went on to college from there.
John H. was
born in 1973. From a very early age he showed great mechanical skills and
started helping his dad run equipment when he was 10. He graduated from
Montana State University in 1995 with a BS in Agricultural Engineering.
John worked for the Edwards Ranch out of Denton, Montana for a couple of years
after graduation before coming back here to begin taking over management of the
Sieben Ranch. John and Cathy Becknell were married in 1997. They
and their two children, Mitchell and Gabi, live here at the main ranch.
John H. has now taken over as ranch manager with John F. and Nina moving into
“employee” positions.
Laura was
born in 1976. Along with her two brothers she grew up here at the ranch
and attended school in Helena. Laura and her two brothers, as part of the
“crew”, spent many days fixing fence, working livestock, and driving
machinery. She attended Montana State University and in 1996 married Jeff
Miller. Jeff and Laura, along with their children Dani and Brandon, live in
Littleton, Colorado, where Jeff is an electrical engineer. Laura is
a very busy stay-at-home mom. Jeff, Laura, and the kids are very
involved in jeeping in the Moab, Utah, area and skiing. Most weekends
will find them either at Moab or on the slopes in Colorado.
Phillip was
born in 1977. He also went to school in Helena but started college at
Arizona State in Tempe. After a couple of years he transferred to Montana
State University where he continued pursuing a degree in computer
engineering. In 2002 he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Following
boot camp he was sent to 29 Palms where he was assigned to the 3rd
LAR Battalion. In 2005 Phillip and Kathy Taylor were married.
Kathy, whom Phillip had his eye on all through high school, is now an
elementary teacher in California. Phillip died while on his second tour
in Iraq.
Max & Mel Baucus
Henry Sieben blessed his family with a tradition of respect for land and nature and leaving a legacy that pervades his entire Montana family. Everything on the Montana side derives from him. We're incredibly lucky.
He and Leonard were gutsy to head west looking for opportunity in 1864. Henry Sieben is a legend in our Montana family. Whether working wagon trains, riding up to Canada in winter looking for lost cattle, trailing a few thousand head of sheep up from California, ranching on the Missouri, he loved his new roots in Montana. Henry later became a livestock baron, inducted into the National Cowboy Hall of Fame, and it's no surprise that five generations later he is so venerated. He was quite a man. I know he's inspired me as well as the rest of us in the family.
I have two favorite photos of him. In one he's holding a new born lamb with his granddaughter (my mother), Jean Baucus that is posted on this blog. That photo captures his quiet strength with my mother's imminent and eminent class. In the other he's holding pheasants he bagged with his shot gun. In both he's wearing a tie and showing his usual smile.
His two daughters were Helena belles. Bernice and Margaret. They grew up in Helena but often rode their horses as little girls out to the ranch. One, I think was Doctor, the other Jean Harlow. It must have been quite a site. It took them an entire day to ride out there.
Bernice, we called her Beanie, my grandmother, was wonderful. She made the world's best French dressing with avocados and brightened conversation with "Isn't that killing!" which today would mean, “Man, that's amazing?!”.
Her husband, Fred, was the engineer and aviator in the family, pioneering aviation, building airports. He even hosted Amelia Earhart in Helena. He liked ranching, but aviation and was his love. You can see a painting of him with Earhart hanging in the Helena Airport.
Fred and Beanie had one child, my mother, Jean Baucus. She was one special lady. She loved the ranch. She loved everything about it. It was central to her life. In her later years she'd find any excuse to drive out. See the livestock, go to her cabin, see her family, soak it all in. She also loved sheep. Her photos, paintings, almost all featured sheep which I think reminded her of all things related to the ranch.
She was a horse woman. Riding over the ranch whenever she could. Her favorite was a spirited Jean Harlow, half Arabian half American Saddle.
Mom was smart (graduated from Stanford in economics ), authored several books about Helena history and the ranch. She had class. It was a Sieben trait. She read a lot--even more books than I. She was a great conversationalist. She was generous in donating time and money to various charities in the Helena community. She was a wonderful mother to me and my brother, John and sister, Karen. She worked to keep the family together. Everybody liked her. She was our anchor.
Mom was also smart to get out of a bad marriage when I was two years old and smart to get into a good one with John Baucus, from Great Falls. A year after they married I started calling him Dad. They were a stunning pair. Mom, beautiful, Dad tall and handsome. Lots of style. Dad ran the ranch while I was growing up. I have so many good memories following him around when I was a kid, and following his directions when I was older. He was an amazing man. No one ever spoke an ill word him. His character was that strong.
You've read about my brother John and his family. But not our sister, Karen, who is living in Fredericksburg, Virginia, near her children, Nick, a pulmonologist, and Kathy, a veterinarian. Her youngest son, John, is an airline pilot based in Phoenix, Arizona. He just took a job with a cargo company to learn how to fly 747’s.
I think it was growing up on the ranch, except for going to school in Helena, which largely determined my calling--public service. It was spending time outdoors in what seemed to me to be a magnificent ranch in a magnificent state.
Baling and stacking innumerable bales of hay. Digging postholes, building fence, blowing up beaver dams, herding sheep, working cattle, fixing broken machinery, fighting forest fires, driving to town for parts, cleaning out the pig pen or chicken pen, marveling at thunderstorms and sunsets, water skiing down at the Gates of the Mountains, blowing up anvils sky high. The sensuous feel and smell of it. Getting rooted in the land, water, sky and mountains. All giving me a sense that we're all in this together.
I'm lucky to have great parents, good health and able to go to the schools I wanted to. It, along with the ranch, gave me a sense of confidence and direction. So off I went to Stanford, where Mom had graduated from almost 30 years earlier. While an undergrad I attended an overseas campus in France and then hitchhiked around the world between 1962 and 1963, that trip was a defining time for me. I knew then that the world was getting smaller and we all needed to work together to preserve the natural resources of this earth. I knew right then that I was headed for public service. I went back to Stanford and attended law school after which I worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington DC. I came home to Montana in 1972 helped write Montana’s new constitution during our Constitutional Convention. After that I became a Montana state legislator for two years, then I was lucky enough to be elected to represent Montana in Congress for two terms. In 1978 I was elected to the US Senate and served for six terms. After 40 years in Washington DC I was ready to come home to Montana when a new opportunity came out of the blue to serve as US Ambassador to China. So, Mel and I packed up and headed to Beijing in March of last year. Eventually, we plan to get back home to Montana.

In 1976, the single most important event in my life occurred. I became the proud parent of my son, Zeno Baucus, now 38 years old and living and working in Helena, Montana. In the tradition started by my Mother, Zeno graduated from Stanford and then went on to Georgetown Law School. He is now a prosecutor with the US Attorney in Helena, Montana. In 2008, Zeno married Stephanie, also a lawyer, who divides her time working between Washington DC and Helena.
Four years ago, I married my wife, Mel on the ranch where so many of our family weddings have occurred. Mel is a lawyer who was a prosecutor in Iowa and Montana. Mel has two children Katie, also a lawyer, and Joey a recent creative writing graduate in Seattle(he is the only non-lawyer out of the 6 of us and reminds us of that frequently)
Living and working on the ranch rooted me in service to our state. I had one million of the world’s best bosses.
Mel and I wish we could join you. When the anvil goes off think of us over here in China.
Zeno & Stephanie Baucus:
Stephanie and Zeno Baucus are both attorneys who live in Helena, Montana.
They have been honored to live for over two years in the same house where Jean
and John Baucus, along with Max, John, and Karen, lived for many years.
Zeno is a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and Stephanie
works in public relations and travels frequently between Montana and
Washington, DC. Zeno, who is the son of Max, mostly grew up in
Washington, DC and was fortunate to spend some time on the Sieben ranch during
the summers growing up. He went to Stanford for college and Georgetown
for law school. He and Stephanie were married in 2008. Stephanie is
an Air Force brat, who grew up mostly in a small town in East Tennessee.
She is a graduate of Emory College and Harvard Law School, and the two met when
they worked at the same law firm in 2004. They are currently working on
expanding their family.
LEONARD SIEBEN’S “VALLEY CLAN”:
Note from Dan: I've just learned that some on the "Leonard side" were not aware of the blog I did for my mother's (Lois Wilkinson Sieben) 90th Birthday...nine years ago. Here it is..and you'll see what we looked like before we aged nine years. http://loisbirthdayandfamilyreunon.blogspot.mx/ Just copy the link and paste it in to your browser. There is great photo of everyone that attended about the event about two screen scrolls down.
Robert Leonard Sieben (attending
with wife Barbara Zubrick): Robert Leonard Sieben lives in
Oakland, CA, with his wife of seven years, Barbara, an accomplished artist. He
is still practicing medicine as a neurologist with special competence in child
neurology and has recently published two books based on his personal
experiences, the Homeowners’ Guide to
Wildfire Prevention, and The
Colorectal Cancer Survival Guide. He went to DePauw U, spending his junior
year abroad in Germany, and to Stanford Medical School. He was a pediatric
resident at Montefiore medical center and a neurology resident at Albert
Einstein School of Medicine, both in the Bronx. He spent two years at Travis
Air Force Base during Vietnam. Since then he has been in private practice in
Concord, near San Francisco. He is still an avid skier, hiker, landscape
photographer (robertsiebenphotography.com), and a leader in wildfire prevention
in the Oakland hills (wildfireprotection.info). His daughter, Laurey, and son,
Paul, and their children will be attending. Bob has learned to manage migraine
(a genetic disease present in several of the Sieben clan) and nearly died from
colorectal cancer 24 years ago because he failed to get a colonoscopy at the
age of 50. This illness also has a strong genetic component, so be advised.
Laurey Sieben Heinrich (with
daughters Devyn and Keegan): I am Laurey Heinrich, mother of
Devyn and Keegan. We have lived in Minnesota for the past 9 years.
I have owned my own personal training business since living in Minnesota.
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my girls, hanging out
with my dog, riding my Harley Davidson motorcycle, exercising, and cooking
healthy meals. I am looking forward to this week of fun!
My name is
Devyn Heinrich. I am 15 years old and I am going to be a sophomore
in high school next year. I play volleyball inside and outside of
school. I have a sister named Keegan. I'm looking forward to
meeting y'all this week!
Hi my name is
Keegan. I like playing goalie and defense in soccer. I'm from
Minnesota and I have an older sister named Devyn. I love animals and I
have a big dog named Taz. He is an English Mastiff. I've never been
to Montana before, and I'm excited for this week!
Paul Sieben (with son Ryan): Paul Sieben (son of Robert Sieben and Lois Grandi) is blessed to
be living with his wife, Jenese, and his amazing boys, Ryan (9) and Kyle (11),
in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jenese and I met while in college at UC Santa
Barbara and have been together for just about half our lives. I've been a
corporate lawyer for about 17 years and am a partner at O'Melveny & Myers,
where I represent Silicon Valley technology companies and investors in venture
capital and private equity deals, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings
and other matters. Though very busy at work, my wife and kids are the center of
my world. Kyle just finished his first year of middle school where he is doing
extremely well both academically and socially. He loves anything sports and is
a tremendous athlete, playing his favorite, baseball, for the past 9 seasons (with
myself as a coach for most of them), flag football, basketball and pretty much
anything involving a ball, a race or some other competition. Ryan, on the other
hand, is a tremendously gifted stage performer/singer/dancer/actor, having
spent the last few years in large-scale productions of Willy Wonka (as Mike
TeeVee), Tom Sawyer, Miracle on 34th Street, Shrek and others. His
confidence and presence on the stage are an inspiration to all of us. About to
start 4th grade, he continues to endear himself to each of his teachers and is
an excellent student, enjoying writing the most. Jenese could not be a better
mom, volunteering countless hours at the kids' schools and at Ryan's theater
company, all while keeping the trains running on time. While not working,
coaching or enjoying a performance, I love playing with our boys, family
vacations, watching Giants baseball and drinking wine with Jenese.
Richard Bruce Sieben (Craig
Sieben’s father; deceased. Brother Bob
wrote this for inclusion in the biographies): Richard Bruce Sieben, my
older brother and the first-born Sieben of my generation, was born in Vandalia,
IL, March 22nd, 1934. He won the honor E award for scholarship and lettering in
wrestling, as well as a gymnastic cheerleader. He went to DePauw U, spending
his junior year abroad in the Netherlands. He excelled in many leading acting
roles. A math major, he got his master’s degree at the U. of Michigan, where he
met his first wife, Ann Southworth, Craig's mother. He completed his actuarial
examinations at a record young age. He was an intense game player, practicing
on me as he learned about probabilities. He continued to live in Evanston, was
a deacon of the Unitarian Church, and led a civil rights march in the late
sixties. He had close ties to Geneseo, his cousins who attended Northwestern U,
and my sister and her kids. He researched the Sieben-Goembel ancestry in depth
while visiting Jeff Lillard when Jeff was on duty in Wiesbaden, Germany. He
learned to smoke a pipe in order to play the lead role of the stage manager in
Our Town in high school. Unfortunately, his subsequent three-packs-a-day habit
led to his premature death from lung cancer at the age of 54, as it led to the
deaths of both of my parents from massive heart attacks at the ages of 62 and
77. He would have loved to attend this reunion.
Craig & Amy Sieben (with son Ethan
and daughter Kyra): Craig
Sieben lives in Chicago with his wife Amy and two kids, Ethan and Kyra. He loves
playing tennis and harmonica. He works as an energy management consultant at
the firm he established in 1990, Sieben Energy Associates. He grew up in
Evanston, Illinois, went to Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, lived
in Boston for two years afterwards, and has lived in Chicago since 1986. He
loves history, travel, spending time with his family, and living in one of the
most vibrant and diverse cities in the world. He is absolutely thrilled to be
going to Montana in two weeks! Oh, and
he will have seen U2 four nights in the last week before the reunion…
Amy Bryant
Sieben is an East Coast girl transplanted to Chicago after she came to get MBA
at the University of Chicago. She met
Craig playing volleyball and Frisbee on North Avenue beach in the early 1990s. A striking red-head, competitive squash
player in her day, and skier and bicyclist. She got her undergraduate degree in
manufacturing engineering and can build and repair most anything she tackles.
When not helping the kids with their studies and other pursuits, she works in
computer systems and technology.
Ethan
Sieben is 16 and will be a Junior this year at Jones College Prep – a Chicago
public school in downtown Chicago. He enjoys playing video games, playing water
polo, playing the bass, reading and watching movies. He is working on his Eagle
Scout requirements, and excels at math like his grandfathers (on both sides).
With an awesome head of red hair from his Mom, combined with the curls his Dad
used to have (and recently free of his braces) he’s one lucky dude.
Kyra
Sieben is 12 and will be in 7th grade at the school around the
corner from us in Chicago. She enjoys swimming, reading, and writing fan
fiction and poetry. She loves animals, hugs, books and her family. She loves to
sing and is in the school chorus, and also breaks in to song when the mood hits
her (which is a lot). She’s very excited
to be taller than her Mom.
Judy Sieben Lillard & Dave
Lillard: Greetings to all of my Sieben, Baucus &
Hibbard Relatives! I am looking forward
to meeting/reuniting with many of you in Montana in just a week!
My husband,
Dave, and I live in Western Colorado and have been here now for almost 30
years, after moving from Boulder, CO, in 1985.
Montrose is a “small” town still, it’s very friendly, and we are in a
valley with the beautiful peaks of the San Juan Mountains to the south of
us. There are numerous places to
camp/boat/fish within a short drive, and that is just about our favorite thing
to do these days. Don’t catch many
fish…but we sure enjoy cruising in the boat and the relaxation of being out on
the water or holding down our lawn chairs under the camper awning.
We have
three sons and one grandson: Jeff (now
50!), Jason & Justin (twins-age 45), and Mitchell (Justin’s son-almost 19). Our kids attended schools in Boulder, and
then when Jeff went off to college (he graduated from Ft. Lewis College in
Durango, CO, with a major in Business), we moved to Montrose where the twins
attended 9th through 12th grade. Mitchell has spent all his life in Durango,
Colorado.
All three of
our boys have always been very active in sports. They played Little League baseball as kids
with Dave often coaching, and when they got to junior high, football and
wrestling took over. Dave was an
excellent wrestler in high school, and the boys, plus Mitchell, followed in his
footsteps. Justin ended up 2nd
in State his senior year, and Jeff took 5th place. Jason had an ACL tear and surgery on his knee
from football, but he was almost undefeated when he got back to wrestling. And then at State his senior year, he was weak
from a flu bug. That was a bummer!
During those
years, we put in a lot of time sitting on bleachers – so much time that we told
people we actually “lived” under the bleachers and just came out for the
matches or games. Mitchell also excelled
in wrestling and was undefeated his last year of middle school and in various
tournaments around the state. However,
when he got to high school, he just wasn’t into it as much. We sure enjoyed those years and it was great
fun watching all of them, but for me as a mom and grandma, it could also be nerve-wracking!
The boys and
our grandson all live in or near Durango, Colorado, which is about 100 miles
from Montrose. There’s a huge pass in
between, so it can be a challenge to get back and forth in the wintertime. Following in Dave’s footsteps, the guys are
involved in various types of construction, and we are all “outdoors” people. Jason, Justin & Mitchell are avid
snowboarders, while Jeff prefers to stick to his skis. Dave and I are both “retired” from skiing,
although we enjoyed it when we were younger.
We all like to camp, fish, hike, and to just be up in our beautiful
Colorado mountains. We currently have no
daughter-in-laws or girls involved in our family, so our get-togethers are
pretty “guy” oriented – Keep the beer on ice and the TV turned to sports!
After many
years spent building homes, remodeling homes, or working on smaller construction
projects, Dave is officially retired.
But you know how that goes…someone always has some little job for him to
do. I worked in a number of different
offices and fields after high school and owned a couple of small
businesses. In 1999 I started my own
temporary office support service (Small Favors) filling in mostly in doctor’s
or lawyer’s offices. I also have worked
with many people to help them do their life stories. That has been particularly rewarding for me
as I just love learning about my clients’ lives and helping them to provide
their families with something that can be handed down through the
generations. It was really special to
collaborate with Craig, Todd, and my brother Bob (along with several cousins)
to compile my own great-grandfather Leonard’s story and history in pictures.
My working
years kind of came to a halt when I was “side-lined” by leukemia & lymphoma
in 2013. The good news is that after a
stem cell transplant in November of 2013, I am doing really well and am just mostly
dealing with ongoing side-effects. Heck
of a way to retire!
It’s been
quite a journey. I’ve discovered that cancer
can have its silver linings. You find
out what an amazing support system you have of family and friends, you learn
not to “waste” time, and you work on not stressing out and worrying about the
small stuff. Notice that I said “work
on” as that’s a hard habit to break – but I’m there most of the time!
Dave (Davie
to me and to his family and close friends) and I celebrated our 50th
wedding anniversary last October by taking a road trip to Taos, New
Mexico. It’s hard to believe all this
time has just flown by! He is my best
friend, and he’s been a rock through all this cancer stuff. Sure couldn’t have done it without him! We are getting back to normal (whatever that
is!), and we enjoy visiting with friends and family, camping, reading, golf
(his thing), yoga (my thing), music (mostly Country Music) and just hanging
out. “Life is good!” (I noted that my
cousin Todd ended his bio with the same quote – but I guess that’s where we
both are!)
Todd & Kay Sieben:
We live in Geneseo, Illinois and have been married for 46 years. Our
oldest daughter Rachel and her family live in Batavia, IL. Our son Brandon and
his family live in Iowa City, IA. Our youngest daughter Meredith and her family
live in Doral, FL. Todd was co-owner of Sieben Hybrids Seed company with his
brother Chan. This business was started by Ira and Art Sieben in 1939. Chan,
Todd, & Drew continue to own and manage the Sieben Family Farms that have
been in the family since 1880. Todd also served 21 years in the Illinois
General assembly and retired in 2008 as assistant Republican leader. Kay taught
school in Atlanta and Geneseo. She retired from teaching geography at the
middle school so she could be a full-time grandmama. We are active members of
Grace United Methodist Church which was the home church for Leonard and Sarah
and their children when it was the Evangelical United Brethren Church. We both enjoy helping with many community
activities and spending time with our children and grandchildren. We would love
for you to stop by for a visit. "Life is good".
Brandon & Deb Sieben (with
daughters Kay, Nina and Georgia): Brandon Sieben (son of Todd
Sieben)... I live in Iowa City, IA, with my wife of 21 years (Debra) and 3
amazing daughters (Kay 12, Nina 11 and Georgia 8). We are strong
Christians who love the Lord and lead by serving others in all we do. Our
girls are into all things sports (like me and Deb), art (like my grandmother
Jean Sieben), and outdoors (like my dad). We look forward to seeing
everyone in a couple weeks.
Meredith & Hans Kunzke (with
daughter Ella Grace and son Seba): Meredith (Sieben) Kunzke, youngest daughter of Todd and Kay Sieben
of Geneseo: Meredith is married to Hans Kunzke (of German/Guatemalan
descent), and they live in Miami with their two children, Ella (10) and Hans
Sebastian 'Seba' (9). Hans is a Satellite Engineer and Meredith is a
stay-at-home mom. They enjoy spending as much time as possible outdoors
and in the water, especially waterskiing and wakeboarding. They are very
active in their church and their community. They also enjoy traveling,
and by the time we all meet for the reunion they will have spent over two weeks
working their way east from Seattle! They are looking forward to
spending time with everyone in Helena!
Rachel & John Harms (with son
Jack and daughter Anna Marie): Rachel (Sieben) Harms lives in the western suburbs of Chicago
(Batavia, Il.) with her husband John (JD), and kids Jack (15) and Anna Marie
(14). Our family returned last year from a 2 year expat assignment JD
had in Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK. We enjoy traveling together
and music - which was fostered early with piano lessons from my Aunt
Lois Sieben in Geneseo. Thanks to my dad Todd, the boys love hunting, fishing,
and yes, shooting clay pigeons. Anna Marie loves dance and
musical theater. We all enjoy sports, both playing and watching them! We
place a high value on education and our Christian faith, which
was passed onto us from so many Siebens in Geneseo growing up. JD
is pursuing new business development opportunities within the IT
field, and I've reentered the school setting as a
reading specialist. Thanks to Craig, Chase, and Todd for their work to
bring us all to Montana. We're looking forward to a wonderful weekend!
Drew & Carol Sieben:
Drew Sieben lives in Fort Dodge, Iowa, with his wife of 45 years, Carol.
He grew up in Geneseo, Illinois, and then attended and graduated from the
University of Illinois both for undergraduate and medical school. He met Carol
in Peoria, Illinois, when he was doing his internship. At the end of the
internship he was drafted into the army and spent two years as a general
medical officer at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia. He then did a four-year
residency in urology at the University of Louisville Health Center. Our oldest
child, Ward, was born in Louisville in 1975. We moved to Fort Dodge in 1978,
the year our daughter Andrea was born. We have been in the same house since
1978 and have way too much "stuff" to even begin to think about
moving. It would trigger a "withdrawal episode" not unlike an
alcoholic going through the drying-out process. Drew practiced urology in Fort
Dodge and is retired. He enjoys fishing, singing in a men's barbershop chorus
(19 years and still singing), and golf. Some health issues have limited his
hobby-time since 2010, but hopefully things are on the upswing now. I am
thankful that this reunion is taking place and look forward to seeing everyone.
Ward Sieben and Khami Johnson
(with Ward’s son Noah and daughter Isabella)
Andrea Sieben Pavik & Michael
Pavik (with daughter Victoria & son Cael):
Andrea Pavik lives in Fort Dodge, Iowa, with
her husband Michael and two kids, Victoria and Cael. She is actively
involved in her church, Northfield Church of Christ, where she plays violin and
sings on the worship team. She also sings with the Sonshine Singers and
plays violin with the Fort Dodge Area Symphony when her busy family schedule
allows. She teaches preschool and preschool special education in an
inclusive setting. She loves working with young children and their
excitement about learning. She grew up in Fort Dodge, IA, attended the
University of Northern Iowa where she earned her bachelor and master's degrees
in early childhood special education. She lived in Gorham, Maine, briefly
while student teaching and returned to Fort Dodge in 2000 to begin
teaching. She enjoys music, reading, sewing, traveling, spending time
with her family, and serving Christ.
Victoria Pavik is 12 and lives in Fort Dodge
with her parents Michael and Andrea and her brother Cael. She is an avid
reader and book lover. She enjoys music and plays the violin and
piano. Her annual highlight is attending Suzuki violin camp in Ottawa, KS,
each summer. She is a member of 4-H where she has many
opportunities to serve her community, develop her communication skills, and
pursue her own personal development goals. She also enjoys being a part
of several youth theater groups and productions.
Cael Pavik (Michael Pavik III) is 9 and
lives in Fort Dodge with his parents Michael and Andrea and his sister
Victoria. He is a very active boy who loves gymnastics and wrestling.
He was extremely proud to master the back handspring this past year. He
began playing the violin about a year ago. He loves being outdoors,
building things of his own creation, and asking lots of questions.
Michael Pavik lives in Fort Dodge with his
wife Andrea and two kids, Victoria and Cael. He is an avid waterfowler (duck
and goose hunting) chasing the migration all over the United States. He is a
prairie enthusiast. He has built a small prairie on his property and is
currently working on a larger project at the Middle School where he teaches
Social Studies and Science. He also is a Cubs fan holding out hope for a World
Series soon. He also enjoys cheering on his Michigan State Spartans and reading
about history.
Whitney & Deb Sieben (with
daughters Faith, Elle, Gracen and son Everett):
Whit Sieben grew up in Geneseo, Illinois.
He attended the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs where
he met the fetching Miss Debra Anne Smith in the fall of 1991.
After a year-long courtship, they were wed in October 1993, and she joined him
on his second assignment in the US Air Force. Whit had the privilege of
being an F-15C instructor pilot for nearly his entire Air Force career. He just
retired from the Air Force in June after 24 years of service. Retired, however,
does not mean unemployed as he is now working for American Airlines as a first
officer on the 757/767 -- hence the move two weeks ago to the Dallas, Texas
area. Whit's hobbies include putting together Lego sets and other various
toys, and playing pretty, pretty princess/Power Ranger at the same time. His
primary form of exercise consists of chasing after his four children and
chasing boys away from his three girls.
Debra Sieben (Smith) grew up in Colorado. She attended Baylor University until Whit whisked her away to Europe. Life as a "military spouse," and mother of four, means she is an expert at moving, chaos mitigation, disaster preparedness, and overall "holding the fort down." Her hobbies include running and triathaloning.
Ellie Sieben was born in 2000 in Panama City,
Florida. By the age of one she had already been kissed by her first president.
She will be a freshman this fall at Liberty Christian High School. Her hobbies
include volleyball and soccer. She is very happy to just have gotten her
braces off.
Gracen Sieben was born in 2003 in Klamath
Falls, Oregon. She will be entering seventh grade at Corinth Classical Academy.
Her hobbies include anything that has to do with horses, walking around with her
nose in a book, and of course, playing piano.
Everett Sieben was born in Klamath Falls,
Oregon, in 2008. He will be entering first grade at Corinth Classical Academy
this fall. His hobbies include basketball, baseball, soccer, karate, wrestling,
and overall goofiness. His favorite animals are sharks and snakes. His favorite
building is an airport.
Faith Anne Sieben was born in Klamath Falls,
Oregon, in 2009. She will be starting kindergarten this fall at Corinth
Classical Academy. Her hobbies include twirling her hair, twirling her
body, and twirling anything else that she can find including her mother's
patience. She's very sweet and lovable - if you don't believe it, just
ask her. She'll tell you all about it!
The Dale and Lois Sieben Family Tree
Dan & Kay Sieben: Dan Sieben grew up on the Sieben
Farm, just north of Geneseo, Illinois, and last fall at age 72 moved with his
wife, Kay, to the small, beautiful lakeside town of Ajijic (Ahh-hee-HEEK) just
south of Guadalajara, Mexico…where they intend to be for the duration. A lot happened between Geneseo and
Ajijic. I worked on the farm every
summer until 1962…but that summer after my sophomore year at Northwestern
University, I worked in Germany (not far from Abenheim) and then did the (less
than) $5 a day thing throughout much of Europe.
That opened my eyes to the World.
After Northwestern I worked for a while in Japan…and then continued on a
trip around the world, stopping for a while to work in London. I was an International Fellow at Columbia
University where I received my MBA…just in time to serve in Vietnam, but chose
instead to spend two years in the Peace Corps in Lima, Peru. Upon returning to the US, I founded a company
which grew rapidly around the world (www.bomanite.com) and then sold it in 1989…which
at age 47 allowed freedom to travel and become involved on non-profit boards
doing work in Africa and the former Soviet Union. Kay and I were married in 1977 (got our
marriage license on 7/7/77—a Sieben thing)
and had two daughters—Michelle and Robin.
Michelle is a nurse practitioner in New Haven, CT…and Robin is a program
director in the Dean’s office at the Stanford University Medical School. Michelle and Todd have presented us with
three grandchildren, and Robin and Dave are set to present us with TWINS (!)
this coming November. “Once an
entrepreneur, always an entrepreneur” describes my temperament…and our current
dream is to build and operate a Continuing Care Retirement Community here in
Mexico…but right now I’m part of a team building and operating a
state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center in Guadalajara, and also part of a
team planning to create and operate a “sober house” for recovering drug and
alcohol addicts here in Ajijic. Photography’s
a hobby…and I’ll have my camera with me in Montana!
Doug & Mary Lou Sieben:
Doug Sieben has lived in Colorado since 1978 with his wife, Mary Lou,
and two grown children who live nearby – Ric (who is married to Lisa) and Beth
(who is married to Shawn and has two children, Trevin and Zachary). Doug has enjoyed retirement from Deluxe Corp.
since 1998 and plays golf (less now than earlier), enjoys the grandsons,
traveling around this great country, and dining out (probably enjoys the latter
too much!), as well as some cooking. He
grew up in northeast Iowa, spent a little less than three years in the Army,
graduated from Iowa State University, and worked for the University of Northern
Iowa and a battery company prior to moving to Colorado. He has done volunteer
work for churches and United Way during his working years. Since the winters
seem to get colder the older we get, winters are spent in Sun City, AZ (since
we now age qualify), where we own a small condo. Golf is great in January!
Mary Lou
grew up in southeastern Indiana and is a graduate of an Indiana University
Riley School of Dentistry program. She
met Doug when he was temporarily assigned to Fort Benjamin Harrison in
Indianapolis and moved to Texas where he was stationed when they got married in
1963. She is an avid reader and has volunteered with local libraries and
churches where they have lived. She
spent most of her time raising two great children, wrote a 'Meet Your Neighbor'
column for a local paper and later worked for a newcomer welcoming service both
in Colorado Springs and Castle Rock, where we now live. Other than reading, she
enjoys beating Doug at golf, of course the grandsons, and traveling.
Ric is a
graduate of University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, in Video Production and
has worked for several TV stations and production companies in the past. After being employed by Compassion
International for several years, he started his own production company '7 Story
Productions'. Lisa is a manager with
USAA, a large insurance company with a regional office in Colorado
Springs. They celebrated their 25th
anniversary with a safari trip to Africa where Ric had spent some time when he
worked for Compassion International.
Their two Siamese cats (Zsa-Zsa and Eva) are their immediate family. Lisa is a Colorado Springs native and has
many nieces/nephews living in the area.
Beth is a
graduate of Metropolitan State University of Denver with a major in Criminal
Justice and a master’s in Educational Counseling. She spent a little over 12 years working with
juvenile delinquents before accepting the job of Executive Director of Ronald
McDonald Charities of Southern Colorado thirteen years ago. Her husband, Shawn,
an Army veteran, is a graduate of Regis University with a major in accounting
and is a new CPA working for the city of Colorado Springs. Trevin, their oldest at 10, does well in
school, enjoys soccer and baseball and being a great 'big brother' to his
younger sibling, Zach. Zach is a lively
7 year old who really loves soccer and being an all around adventuresome boy.
(Unfortunately,
our kids will not be able to make it. We
look forward to the reunion!)
David Wilkinson won't be in Helena...but he sends this biography:
David Wilkinson won't be in Helena...but he sends this biography:
David, and his wife, Susan, live in Tucson, Arizona where both just retired after 47 years as an Ordained Elder of the United Methodist Church (David), and 30 years of teaching elementary and special education (Susan). Their combined families include two boys, three girls (all grown),and ten grand children (nine grandsons and one grand-daughter...the ninth Grandson due any day). David and Susan have been happily married for 24 years. Susan follows in the ranching tradition of the Siebens having grown up on a cattle ranch in Baggs, Wyoming (the same area where Butch Cassidy and the "Hole-in-the-Wall" gang hung out). Susan received her BA from the University of Wyoming and her Masters degree from the University of Arizona.
David received his undergraduate degree from Cornell College, following in the tradition of his Mother and Father (Paul and Genevieve) along with his Aunt and Uncle (Lois and Dale Sieben), and received his Doctor of Religion degree from the Claremont School of Theology in Claremont, California. He just retired after 47 years of active ministry in San Diego, Julian, CA, Yuma, Arizona, three years at Findhorn in Northern Scotland, and 33 years as Senior Pastor of St. Francis in the Foothills in Tucson. St. Francis was the first Reconciling Congregation in Arizona, and the 27th in the nation to recognize the full rights of LGBTQ persons of sacred worth. His church was one of the spearheads of the Reconciling movement throughout the country. St. Francis has also been involved in Citizen Diplomacy with the Soviet Union with a highlight of his ministry being when three members of the Supreme Soviet spoke at St. Francis about the God they were not supposed to believe in. Under David's leadership St. Francis was also active in Immigration Reform, the Sanctuary movement, and most recently in prison reform. Another great highlight of his ministry was the gift of spending a one/half hour one-on-one with his Holiness, the Dalai Lama.
Both David and Susan are still getting used to retirement, though they are having no difficulty with the adjustment. Our love and blessing, though not our physical presence, join you as you celebrate our precious family ties.

John Wilkinson (joined by Pete Scarver): John Leonard Wilkinson lives in
Newbury, Massachusetts, with his wife of 53 years, Judy. They have three
adult children: twins Lane and Lara who live on the west coast and Amy, who is
the mother of their only grandchildren, William and Alexandra, who live on Long

who will also be in attendance, is an avid skier and motorcycle rider (Indian)
and loves to putter in the "back 40" where he husbands a modest
vineyard and an 80' in diameter labyrinth. John graduated Dartmouth College
in NH and attended the University of Minn. for a MSW. He spent his career
in a variety of industries as a human resources exec. and now, much to his
glee, is a partner in a stand-up paddle board (SUP) company:
SPEEDBOARDusa, is very active in his church; and serves on various boards
in the community. John and Pete have been looking forward to, and talking about,
attending this event for months. Pete is a little apprehensive as he has no
Sieben blood, but I assure him that he is very much a part of the family, as I
am certain you will all agree when you meet him.

Wendy Greenwood Rowand & Bill
Rowand: I am Wendy
Greenwood Rowand, oldest child of John Leonard and Dorothy Greenwood (both
deceased). I was born in 1950. My dad was the younger child of John T. and
Olive Sieben Greenwood. Olive was the oldest child of Leonard and Sarah Sieben,
and the only one of their five children born in Montana. I grew up with my
brother, John T. and sister, Nancy in Geneseo just a few blocks from
where Great Grandma Sieben and Aunt Ruth (and later Aunt Sylvia) were living at
403 North College. I was blessed to be able to remember Great Grandma Sarah. I
spent lots of time with Aunt Ruth until her passing. I was given many family
treasures (in my opinion) by Aunt Ruth when she finally had to sell the family
home. I have Leonard and Sarah's dining room table, chairs, and china cabinet,
their first bedroom set (a less than full-size frame which we have modified a
bit for a guest bed) and probably most importantly, I have the amethyst ring
which Leonard gave Sarah for their engagement. I promised Judy I would bring
it/wear it at the reunion. It has a chip out of it that Aunt Ruth says happened
when Great Grandma was moving a steamer trunk.
I carried on
the family tradition of becoming a teacher like my Grandmother Greenwood. I
received my BS in Education from Illinois State University and my MS in
Education from Western Illinois University. I taught first grade for a few
years in Annawan, IL, stayed home ten years to raise my children and then
taught middle school in Erie, IL, until retirement in 2011. I am now enjoying
my retirement, my pension, and substitute teaching when it suits me!
My husband,
Bill Rowand, and I celebrated our 41st Anniversary June15. We have two great
kids, Kristoffer, 37 and Mandy 34. They with their spouses (Chrissy and Jason),
have given us five of the greatest grandkids anyone could hope to have! We just
spent a week in Gulf Shores with the entire group. It was wonderful to get
together as we are separated by many miles! Kris, Chrissy, Jaxson, and Ayden
live in Fort Worth, TX, and Mandy, Jason, Jocelyn, Jillian, and Jameson live in
Wesley Chapel, FL (near Tampa). We visit each family often, but loved having
all in one place.
Bill
graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Animal Science. He
was in the livestock business raising cattle, both purebred and crossbred, for
many years. He fondly remembers cattle-buying trips to Montana years ago. He is
looking forward to seeing the ranches and talking with the ranching relatives.
He spent over 20 years running a construction company that specialized in
restoring older homes (he fit this family quite well). We have lived for 17
years in a lovely 1867 home that he rescued in Rock Island, IL. He retired when
I did, but is now working as a consultant for older home restoration (www.renewyouroldhome.com). He loves it and it keeps him
as busy as he wants to be.
We are so
excited to renew relationships with the Sieben relatives we know and to form
new bonds with the Montana relatives. Thank you all for making this possible.
Oops--my one paragraph is a bit longer....
Larry Lee & Theresa Lee: Laurence (Larry) G. Lee, Leonard and Sarah Sieben’s great
grandson, was born and bred in Hendersonville, NC. He studied meteorology at UW-Madison and the University of
Oklahoma. After a short appointment at
the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, CO, Larry embarked on
a 41-year career with the NOAA/National Weather Service at Asheville, NC;
Anchorage, AK; Atlanta, GA; Louisville, KY; Raleigh, NC, and Greer, SC. He retired in August 2014, and remains active
in the American Meteorological Society and Rotary. Hobbies include weather and exercise. Larry and his wife, Teresa, live near
Greenville, SC, not far from their son, Stephen, and his wife, Amanda.
Teresa
Teague Lee, Larry’s wife, was born in Asheville, NC. She majored in math at Gardner Webb College
in North Carolina. Teresa and Larry met
when both worked at the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, NC. They married after Larry transferred to the
NWS Forecast Office in Anchorage, AK.
Teresa moved to Anchorage and then accompanied Larry on his subsequent
assignments in Atlanta, GA; Raleigh, NC; Louisville, KY; and Greer, SC. Prior to the birth of their son, Stephen,
Teresa established her own professional career working for
Burroughs/Unisys. Following Stephen’s
arrival, Teresa became a full-time mom, but she was very involved in local
school and church activities. Teresa is
an avid tennis player. She has devoted
countless hours to USTA in South Carolina on an organizational level planning,
scheduling, and working at tournaments.
Teresa and Larry live just outside Greenville, SC.
Stephen
Richard Lee, son of Larry and Teresa Lee, was born in Raleigh, NC. He moved with his family to Louisville, KY,
and then at age seven to Greer, SC.
Stephen graduated from Riverside High School where he was on a South
Carolina state championship swim team.
Stephen spent his undergraduate years at UW-Madison majoring in
chemistry. He received an M.S. in
chemistry from Georgia Tech. Stephen
worked for Milliken and Co. in Spartanburg, SC
for a couple of years before moving to his current position at
LabSource, LLC in Greenville, SC.
Stephen married Amanda Ring in November 2012. Amanda has a degree in Animal Science from
Clemson University. She is employed by
Merial, a veterinary pharmaceutical company.
Stephen and Amanda live in Greer, SC.
Linda Lee: Linda
Lee resides in Durham, NC, with her two fur babies, Molly and Peanut,
canine rescues of indeterminate origin. She grew up in Hendersonville, NC,
attended the University of Tennessee, and then moved to Greenville, SC, where
she worked in child development and health education for thirteen years. In
1985, Linda returned to North Carolina to attend graduate school at UNC -
Chapel Hill; she is now Associate Professor of Medical Education at Duke
University School of Medicine. She loves lake-time with family,
friends and the fur babies; NPR; college sports (especially Tar Heel
basketball and Volunteer football); music of all genres; historical
fiction; and traveling – especially to spend time with cousins near and
far!
What a wonderful History of the Hibbard Family. I am so glad I got to meet Chase, Scott and Whit in San Francisco and was invited to enjoy the Sieben Livestock Ranch - so many years ago. Great memories! Best trip ever! Merry Christmas to you all! Susan Reesink Black
ReplyDeleteIs there any possibility this Sieben Family is related to the Siebenman Family? Also originated from Aaru Germany in the 1500s, Mine dropped a second n , from Siebenman in the 1860s to seem less German.
